From first call to a gate that works again

Generally, most calls are one of two things, a gate that stopped working or a new gate on the way. So here is what each one looks like with us.

Gate repair

For a gate that is stuck, noisy, or acting up.

  1. 1

    Call or send the form

First, tell us the opener brand if you know it and what the gate is doing, for example beeping, stopping halfway, or not moving at all.

  2. 2

    On-site diagnosis

Next, a licensed tech tests power, the control board, the safety sensors, the limits and the hinges to find the real cause.

  3. 3

    Fixed or quoted

Finally, simple fixes are often done during the visit. Otherwise, you get a written quote before any parts are ordered.

New gate installation

For a new driveway gate, opener or access system.

  1. 1

    Free on-site estimate

First, we visit your property, measure the opening, review how you use the entrance and give you a clear written quote.

  2. 2

    Custom gate design

Then we design a gate and access system that fits your style, your budget and your driveway.

  3. 3

    Professional installation

After that, our own techs handle the fabrication, mounting, wiring, opener and access control on install day.

  4. 4

    Final walkthrough

Finally, we test everything, program your remotes and app, and show you how it all works before we leave.

If your gate is not moving right now, our gate won't open or close guide lists safe checks you can do first, and our LiftMaster gate repair page also explains common error codes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does automatic gate installation cost in the Bay Area?

Every gate project is different, because pricing for repairs, openers, intercoms and installations depends on the gate type, site conditions, parts, wiring, access control and the scope of work. So we provide a clear written estimate before any work begins.

How long does it take to install an automatic gate?

Generally, a standard opener or access control install is usually done in a day. A full custom gate build takes longer since it is fabricated to your opening, and we confirm the timeline in your quote.

How soon can you come out for a gate repair?

Call us and we will give you the next available repair time. If your gate is stuck open or closed, tell us when you call so we can plan the visit around it.

If my gate won't open, what should I check first?

First, check that the operator has power and that nothing is blocking the safety sensors. Then our gate won't open or close guide walks through safe checks by symptom. If the gate still won't move, call us, and never force the gate or bypass the safety sensors.

What areas in the Bay Area do you serve?

Specifically, we serve Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, and Santa Cruz counties from our San Jose headquarters.

What types of gate openers do you install and repair?

We install and repair LiftMaster, Viking, FAAC, HySecurity, DoorKing, Elite, Ramset, and other major brands, for swing and slide gates, and we also handle battery-backup and solar setups. If you are not sure which operator fits your gate, start with our sliding gate opener buyer guide.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. In fact, Automatic Gate Masters is a licensed California contractor (CA #1060180), fully insured, with an A+ BBB rating.
